Name: Kate Argent
Fandom: Teen Wolf
Age: 28
Canon Point: After 1x11, “Formality”
Original Universe or Alternate Universe? OU
Personality: Even in the most mundane circumstances, Kate Argent presents herself as a rather formidable woman, confident and self-assured and utterly unshakeable. She is both blunt and direct, a woman who doesn’t care for beating around the bush and tends to say exactly what’s on her mind – when it suits her to do so. She has her share of secrets, of course, and keeps them well until it servers her purposes to make them known. She is incredibly manipulative and has no reservations about using her sexuality to her advantage, as seen when we learned about her history with Derek Hale, having engaged in a sexual relationship with him in order to earn his trust and get information about the rest of the Hale pack.
As a matter of fact, there are very few things she does seem to have reservations about. There’s no denying the fact that she goes well beyond just having a few sociopathic tendencies. Though she is often thought of as being mentally unwell, and while that may be true, the fact of the matter is that she is perfectly aware of the things she does and the resulting consequences, but simply does not care. She is firm in her convictions and willing to do what she thinks is right at any cost, so long as it will better serve her cause. There is nothing that she considers to be crossing the line. Beyond deceit and manipulation, she has been seen engaging in torture without so much as batting an eye, and has no regard for the hunters’ so-called code. She has killed innocent people and not lost sleep over it, and it’s safe to assume that she would do it again without feeling the faintest hint of guilt.
Her bloodthirsty nature is something she has in common with her father, who shares her vindictive streak as well as her extreme tendency towards violence. As a hunter, she is more than capable but can be considered a loose canon, a wild card who can get the job done but has a good chance of getting carried away, though even when she defies the code, she is very deliberate and methodical in all that she does. In every day life, she is just as fearless and confident as she can be while on a hunt, though over-confidence is a definite problem and likely her Achilles’ heel, allowing her to turn a blind eye to her own vulnerabilities.
She has been known to be confrontational and has been forward about interrogating people of interest (such as Scott), and has a tendency to take on a patronizing or condescending tone of voice when she talks to people she wishes to make uncomfortable or feel as though she has them at a disadvantage. This includes the use of condescending pet names. She has a wry sense of wit, a liking for sarcasm and is generally irreverent, but there are parts of her that are genuine. She cares for her family, and her relationship with Allison is a genuinely affectionate one, though even in Allison’s case, Kate is by no means above manipulating those relationships to get what she wants.

“Oh, sweetheart, I don’t want to torture you – but he does.”
It had been ten minutes since she’d left and shut the door behind her, and aside from a few brief moments of silence here and there, the screaming hadn’t stopped. Occasionally, Kate turned an eye towards the door and smiled to herself as she listened, pausing in delicately picking at her nails with the knife she’d pulled from her boot. He was starting to go hoarse. That was a good sign. Progress. It wasn’t enough, but it was progress.
Derek Hale had grown up hard and wary. There weren’t words for how much he had come to hate her, and she was more than willing to admit just how much she loved that. It was a testament to a job well done, to just how well she had done her job, that this lone little wolf spat venom at her even as he hung there in the shackles. Of course, he wasn’t as lone as she would have liked, but he would give her the name of the other beta before long. It was going to take more than a few minutes of electric shock and whatever other fun devices her boy in the room had decided to employ, but sooner or later, they would get there. She would have what she needed.
She heard a guttural growl sound from behind the door, her smile hitching wider as she turned to let her self in. Time to check in and see just how much progress was being made with her own eyes.
“Well, boys, how are we doing in here?” She let the door slam behind her unceremoniously as she approached Derek, waving his torturer aside as she folded her arms and grinned up at him, smug and self-satisfied as ever. “Honey, you’re looking a little pale. Come on, don’t wuss out on me now. We’re just getting started.”
